Red raspberry leaf

Best known as “the woman’s herb”, red raspberry leaf tea contains the alkaloid, fragrine, which can help strengthen the uterus as well as the pelvic area.
Red raspberry leaf is known to:

The uterus needs a lot of vitamins and minerals to function properly and red raspberry leaf tea has almost all of them. Red raspberry leaf is high in Vitamins C, E, A, B and has significant amounts of major minerals like magnesium, potassium, calcium, and phosphorus. It also contains essential trace minerals such as zinc, iron, chromium and manganese. Studies have shown that red raspberry leaf tea can help to make labor faster and reduce complications and interventions during birth. One study found that women who consumed RRL tea regularly are less likely to go overdue or give birth prematurely. These women may also be less likely to receive an artificial rupture of their membranes, or require a caesarean section, forceps or vacuum birth than the women in the control group. Red raspberry leaf has many other benefits to pregnancy, birth, and postpartum too.

Squawvine is most beneficial in childbirth. It strengthens the uterus, tones the uterine lining, helps prevent miscarriage, and relieves congestion of the uterus and ovaries. Its antiseptic properties make it valuable for treating vaginal infections, and is a natural nerve sedative.
Squawvine is among the best remedies for preparing the uterus (and whole body) for child birth. For this purpose, this herb has been traditionally taken for several weeks before the child is due. Squawvine may also be used for the relief of painful menstrual periods.
It is also said to help promote fertility and to increase the flow of mother’s milk. Pregnant women should not take squawvine during the first two trimesters of pregnancy.

False Unicorn root

False Unicorn (Chamaelirium luteum) is strongly recommended for women who have experienced repeated miscarriages. Combined with other herbs it may help prevent a miscarriage if the mother is weak but the baby is healthy. It is an excellent overall tonic. It has been used to correct many problems of the reproductive organs. It is high in vitamin C. It also contains copper, sulfur, cadmium, cobalt, molybdenum, and traces of zinc.


Lobelia (Lobelia inflata) is recommended by herbalist’s for rigid os or perineal and vaginal rigidity during labor. It is a very powerful relaxant. It can help prevent miscarriage if the baby is healthy and strong. It contains sulfur, iron, cobalt, selenium, sodium, copper, and lead.


Nettles (Urtica dioica) is a uterine tonic with a high mineral and chlorophyll tonic. It has a special ability to strengthen kidneys and adrenals. It contains alkaloids that neutralize uric acid. DANDELION ROOT- Both the leaf and root of this common garden “weed” provide many essential nutrients: vitamins A and C, iron, calcium, potassium, and many trace elements. The root is said to be a specific remedy for the liver. The leaf is a mild, nonirritating diuretic, which can reduce water retention during pregnancy. You can eat flesh leaves as salad greens, cook them, or steep them as a tea. However, because dandelion is rich in vitamin A, a fat-soluble vitamin that can accumulate in the body, use only in moderation. In small amounts taken throughout pregnancy can help prevent gestational diabetes and preeclampsia (toxemia). Dandelion also helps the liver to flush out waste by-products (remember, now you are excreting waste for two!) and helps to prevent constipation.
